Texas State University Dorm Room Goes Viral

Prepare to have your mind blown.

Skylar Bantz and Adeline Vela are two freshman students at Texas State University who will be living in luxury this upcoming school year after giving their dorm room the ultimate makeover. Bantz and Vela spent a whopping 10 hours decorating their door room in a building that has been nicknamed “Scary” Sterry Hall.

While the renovation came at a price — a whopping $2,400 to be exact — it looks like it was clearly worth it!

Their new home went from drab to fab, with a faux brick wall, two loft beds with customized headboards, white dressers, a television, white mini-fridge, two faux marble desks and a vanity. Oh, and let’s not forget about the totally necessary coffee station! We’re absolutely jealous.

Take a look at their stunning abode:

Skylar’s mom posted photos of their incredible room on Facebook — and the makeover has garnered much praise, and even jealousy, among the university’s alumni. If the whole school thing doesn’t work out, it looks like these students have a future in renovating homes. Watch out Chip and Joanna Gaines!

Skylar and Adelina, who decided to be roomies after meeting in an online chat group, didn’t know what the inside of their dorm would look like and had only the 16×16 square foot dimensions to work with. They spent the whole summer working up a design plan in a text messaging group with their mothers.

A number of the items were purchased at common retailers like Bed Bath & Beyond, Target and IKEA, meaning any college student can recreate Skylar and Adelina’s room.
